Human beings have a unique ability to flourish. MLV believes that everyone has the right to live a meaningful life and thrive.
A good life that brings inner joy, connectedness, a sense of purpose and accomplishment.
What’s meaningful to each person is as unique as they are.
Often, meaning can be found through work. We all thrive in communities where we can contribute value and are valued in return.
So MLV also believes that everyone can and has the right to work for fair pay.
We don’t just ‘look after’ people with disability, we help people find what’s meaningful to them.
We teach them the skills they want and need to learn to live a meaningful life.
No matter how we priovide support, whether that is through providing assistance in community to supporting someone gain the skills to get a job, we help make their dreams come true.
Meaningful Lives is the future of MiLife-Victoria.
MiLife-Victoria has been a not-for-profit disability support provider on Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula for 33 years.
MiLife has lived the changes in the disability sector. The move from block funding to the NDIS and the desire for people with disability to be supported in their community by the people they choose.
Living a meaningful life looks different to everyone, and here at Meaningful Lives our goal is to work with people to create a Meaningful Life.
That can be employment through our WorkLink program, building skills through our Aspire, Project SkillUp, and Life Skill for Independent Living programs, or engaging in activities through our Community Based Assistance program.
Meaningful Lives has worked with people with disability in the wider Frankston and Mornington Peninsula regions for over 30 years and we can not wait to see what can be achieved in the next 30 years.
Convert the possibility to a plan.
Our Discovery Service helps you unlock your potential and build a life that reflects your goals, interests and aspirations, with a process that is truly personalised, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
We go deeper than a surface level assessment to understand who you are, your strengths, your passions, your environment, and what matters most to you, by meeting you where you feel most comfortable, working alongside you, your family, and your support network. We begin with a comprehensive, strengths-based assessment that involves the people who know you best, exploring skills, interests and goals, and identifying opportunities for growth, independence and real-life outcomes.
You get expert advice from highly-trained specialists in a safe, familiar setting, with a flexible, no-pressure approach built around you, designed to build confidence, and useful even if you choose another provider.

Project SkillUp is a 26-week, once-a-week readiness program based on hands-on, real-world learning to build independence and employment confidence.
Participants gain essential life skills with practical training in digital literacy and financial independence including scam awareness, identity documentation, budgeting, banking and understanding income, tax and superannuation.
The program builds independence for home living through personal hygiene, domestic cleaning systems, meal planning, kitchen safety, and the social skills needed for safe, respectful relationships. It also helps participants confidently manage their way around their communities by learning how to use public transport, manage their time, respond to emergencies, and advocate for themselves for things like making appointments or lodging complaints.
Finally, the employment readiness and Live Experience components prepare participants for work with training in National Employment Standards, professional conduct, mock interviews and a two-week real world intensive where they manage a budget, travel independently, cook and clean, and complete employment paperwork with competency sign-offs.
